Thank You Letters

When thinking about which teacher I wanted to write a thank you to, I considered who were some of my favorite, influential, and effective teachers. I chose my first grade teacher because she was my favorite teacher from elelmentary school, she helped me to love school, and I have not had any contact with her for a very long time. I have taken opportunities to thank some of my more recent teachers and I have seen them still after graduating, but I have never properly thanked this teacher. It was not hard at all for me to write a thank you letter to her. I expressed my appreciation for her care, enthusiasm, kindness, and passion for learning. I also explained that she helped infulence me in becoming a teacher and wanting to teach first grade. Although I have not received any response, I am sure that she greatly appreciated my simple thank you telling her that she really has made a difference by being a great teacher. I know that I would cherish this token greatly after teaching for a long time. Teaching is about relationships, serving, and making a difference, and this simple activity helped me to reflect on the power of this.
