Just Listen

This week I realized the power of simply really listening to someone. At the beginning of this week, my room mate asked me if this was the week my student teaching portfolio was due. I was somewhat surprised that she remembered this, as she is extremely busy herself, and this simple question really meant a lot to me. Later in the week, I gave back this caring gesture by taking the time to listen to my sister, even when I didn't have the time to. I listened to her talk about her problems and tried to reassure her. I made her feel a little better just by being a good listener and taking time for her.
