Reading Festival
The best part of the Reading Festival for me was to see the kids that came through the festival be able to do something kinetically connected to the book. I thought it was really great that we were just introducing the book and not actually reading it to them. They could be interested in the book and then go home and read it with a parent. It was fun coming up with activities to match our book and it is so important to get kids excited about reading and by coming up with activities is one way we were able to do this. All ages were able to put up letters on the felt tree. The younger kids liked seeing the letters stick and the older ones we asked questions about the identification of letters or words. One particular little boy did not know his letters but he loved putting them up on the felt tree because they would stick.
