"No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted." --Aesop

One of my best friends received some negative news today about one of her family members and was very distraught about it. So, I took her out for coffee and caramel rolls and we conversed about the incident and everything else weighing her down right now. Then we went to her apartment to find a distraction that would help lighten the air a little. We wound up watch watching Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which was a great distraction. After the movie, I noticed some dishes that needed to be done in the kitchen, so I decided to wash them up and put them away for her and her roommate.  When she came into the kitchen and saw that I had done this, she was overwhelmed and thanked me. We both knew she had a lot on her plate, so the little act of kindness was very much appreciated. It’s always a great feeling to know that you helped someone out, even if it’s in a simple way. As Mother Teresa said, “Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.”
